In 2017, we embarked on a pivotal project with a US-based client facing a significant operational challenge. Their organization was tasked with the massive undertaking of installing or configuring software across thousands of computers. With hundreds of employees engaged in these installations, the risk of duplicating efforts and the difficulty in tracking which systems had been processed presented a substantial efficiency bottleneck.

The project aimed to develop “Config App” a web application tailored to manage and streamline the process of system installations and configurations within the organization. A key requirement was the ability to provide real-time updates and prevent the duplication of configuration tasks across multiple systems, thereby enhancing operational efficiency and accuracy.

Real-Time Duplication Checks

Utilizing SignalR technology, we implemented a feature that provides real-time communication between the server and client-side browsers. This innovation allows for immediate detection of duplicate entries, alerting users to potential overlaps in system configurations.

Concurrent User Support

The application was designed to support concurrent usage by multiple employees, enabling a collaborative and synchronized approach to system installations. This feature was critical in managing the workflow of hundreds of employees engaging with thousands of systems.
